VIC Park Loses One of The ALL TIME Greats

Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club mourns the loss of one of our all-time greats, Scott Steed

The Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club wishes to express our deepest sadness at the sudden and heartbreaking loss of one of our most adored and successful family members, Scott Steed.

One of our most successful import players, Scott was an inspirational player, coach and leader. All those that were lucky enough to play with him will always remember that huge smile as he crashed the ball around the park, stole bases almost at will and hosed runners from the outfield.

Steedy played with Vic Park for 6 seasons, represented the State (across a 10 year period), the country and was an inaugural member of the Western Australian Baseball Hall of Fame.

In his six seasons at Vic Park Belmont Scott played in 140 State League games and 10 finals, amassing 230 hits, 34 Home Runs, 132 RBI's and scored 162 times. A true legend of our club!

Our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Irene and the entire Steed family at this saddest of times. Please know the Vic Park family is here to help and support wherever possible.

Funeral Service

The funeral service will be held Thursday 5th August at 12:15pm at Pinnaroo Memorial Park, East Chapel - Whitfords Ave & Gibson Ave, Padbury

The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend.

New club coach

The Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of the new club coach for the 2020/21 season

Welcome to 'The Park' Rod Drew

Rod comes to The Park with an impressive résumé, including 30 years involved at the top levels of baseball within the state. He has been involved in numerous finals campaigns with State League and AAA teams, being the State League coach at Morley for two years and at South Perth for three.

He has commanded Baseball WA State and High Performance coaching roles since 2000, taking various age groups (Under 14's through to Under 23's) to 15 National tournaments, and impressively, only once not finishing in the top 4.

Rod has travelled to the States 7 times as one of the team coaches for the World Baseball Showcase Colts teams run by Steve Fish, being involved with many high school and college games. He has also assisted at many Perth Heat and Western Heelers training sessions since 2000.

He has an amazing work ethic, strong commitment to junior development and brings with him a winning culture.

On top of this he has been the Facility Manager at Baseball Park since July 2007 and has an unmatched love of the game.

New club coach

The Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of the new club coach for the 2019/20 season

Welcome to 'The Park' DYLAN BRAMMER

Dylan comes to us boasting an impressive resumè, including 3 seasons in the South Australian State League where he owns a 1.6 ERA and a .341 BA as well as winning back to back Capps Medals - League MVP (the equivalent of the Neville Pratt Medal in WA).

There's not much Dylan can't do. Born and raised in Indiana, the 29 year old right hander dominates on the hill, hits with power, plays solid D up the middle and coaches with success.

Aside from three seasons with Baseball South Australia's Port Adelaide Magpies where he boasts the combined 1.6 ERA and .341 BA and consecutive Capps Medal wins, the right handed fireballer racked up some great stats in the Czech Republic, where Bram owns a 1.1 ERA with a     .368 BA and a league record 157 K's.

Seen here, tearing it up on the mound for the New Jersey Jackals, Dylan has been on fire in the Independent Leagues in the States and is very much looking forward to heading back Down Under to The Park and sharing his baseball knowledge with our young group of players.

Meet the new guy behind the dish - Gavin stupienski

REDS new catcher, Gavin Stupienski, originally from Princeton New Jersey is super excited be out here and form an integral part of the VPB Reds team. Currently playing for the Lake Erie Crushers in the Independent Frontier League, the left handed hitter has been racking up some pretty good numbers both behind the dish and at the plate since graduating from UNC Wilmington and being picked up as part of the Arizona Diamondbacks organisation.

The 25 year old can also play the corners and some outfield, but will feature as our wall behind the plate in the absence of college bound Josh Greenham. In his last 6 seasons playing college, minors and independent league baseball, Gavin has a healthy .986 Fld% and .310 BA.

Head down to 'The Park' to meet Dylan & Gavin
