Introduction
Established in 1935, the Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club is one of the oldest and largest baseball clubs in Australia. As a foundation club and affiliate of Baseball Western Australia (BWA), we are proud to have strong representation within most grades of junior and senior baseball within the state.
Forster Park, located ot the cnr of Abernethy Road and Keane Street in Belmont, is the Club's home ground and comprises 3 purpose built diamonds. Prior to the advent of Parry Field Stadium and now Baseball Park, Forster Park has been the premier baseball facility in the state and has hosted numerous finals, interstate and international competitions.
AIMs
Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club aims to progress the sport of baseball in Western Australia by encouraging enjoyment through participation and continued development,
whilst fostering a love of the game by all players, young and old. We have a strong junior program supported by dedicated and accredited coaches, with many of our juniors having progressed to represent their Charter, the state and their country.
Teams
The Club currently has 9 junior teams from Machine Pitch, designed to bridge the gap between tee-ball and baseball, through to the Big League (U/19's competition). There are currently 8 senior teams from G grade through to the State League 1 team, meaning there is always scope to find the right level to suit every player, from very relaxed and social, through to the more competitive and elite teams.
The State League 1 team, competing at the highest level in domestic competition, will have a new head coach this season and exciting opportunities for many of the Club's up and coming young talent. The coaching staff, which boasts a wealth of State League. Perth Heat and collegiate experience will be headed up by Rod Drew (read our article on Rod here), and includes pitching coach Robert Wells and assistants Stephen Meloncelli, Brad Martin, Michael Greenham, Mark Patriarca, Andy Cosgrove and Frankie Chong.
