Welcome from the Junior Support Team
Welcome to the VPBBC Junior Program
We are here to ensure that every junior player and their family has access to a friendly, approachable and supportive team throughout the 2026/27 baseball season.
Whether your family is new to baseball or returning for another season, we hope this Welcome Pack provides the information, guidance and support you need to make the most of your time at Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club.

Junior Development Officer
The Junior Development Officer (JDO) leads the Club's junior player development program and works closely with coaches, players and families to create positive learning experiences. The role focuses on helping every junior player reach their potential by providing guidance, support and development opportunities at every stage of their baseball journey.
The Junior Development Officer is responsible for:

Leading the Club's junior player development program, delivering age-appropriate coaching and skill development opportunities.

Observing players during training sessions and games to identify strengths, opportunities for development and future potential.

Working collaboratively with team coaches, the Head Coach and Junior Vice President to develop individual and team improvement plans.

Supporting player progression pathways by providing objective assessments and recommendations for players interested in transitioning to senior baseball.

Mentoring players in baseball skills, game awareness, sportsmanship and personal development, while providing guidance to parents on realistic developmental goals.

Supporting and mentoring volunteer coaches through coaching resources, education and practical training opportunities.

Promoting consistency across the junior program by implementing training resources, session plans and player developmental milestones.

Working closely with the Head Coach and Junior Vice President to align coaching philosophy, player development and long term Club objectives.
The Junior Development Officer's objective is to help every player develop at a pace that is appropriate for them, ensuring they enjoy the game, continue to improve and are supported in reaching their individual goals.
Supporting Player & Coach Development
At Victoria Park Belmont Baseball Club, we are committed to supporting the ongoing development of our players, coaches and families. If you would like assistance with player development. coaching support, one-on-one specialist coaching or would like a player observed, there are several ways to get in touch with the Junior Support Team.
You can:

Speak directly with the Junior Development Officer (Cam Rivers) at training or via the email provided in the contact table.

Contact the Junior Liaison Officer (Grace Clements), who can help coordinate observations, answer questions or connect you with the appropriate Club representative.

Attend one of our Junior Town Hall Meetings, where families are welcome to discuss player development, coaching support and junior program initiatives.

Share suggestions or feedback using the Club Feedback Form if you would prefer to provide feedback privately.
The Junior Development Officer, together with the Junior Vice President and Junior Liaison Officer, will work collaboratively with players, parents and coaches to provide constructive feedback, recommend development opportunities and , where appropriate, arrange observations or follow-up discussions.
Our focus is always on assisting player development, supporting our volunteer coaches and creating a positive experience for every junior family.
