PLEASE ENSURE NOMINEES MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA

NOMINATION CRITERIA

  1. Nominees must have evidenced substantial and outstanding contributions and achievements through leadership, governance and mentorship within the VPBBC and the sport of baseball in Western Australia, as a result of exceptional personal effort, performnace, time contributed and initiative.

  2. Demonstrated exceptional, loyal and outstanding service to the VPBBC over a total of at least fifteen (15) years in areas such as, but not limited to, administration, management, coaching, facility maintenance and/ or upgrade, fundraising and Club direction.

  3. Contributions must be distinguished, meritorious and exceptional going well beyond the contribution of any ordinary member and have a positive and lasting impact on the Club and its members.

  4. Nominees are assessed individually, based on their personal attributes, achievements and merits rather than in comparison to others.

  5. Candidates must meet acceptable standards of integrity, character and community spirit and must in no way at any time have brought the sport of baseball nor the VPBBC into disrepute, whilst demonstrating a commitment to the values of the Club.

  6. The nominee has demonstrated advocacy for the Club or represented the Club with distinction in the broader baseball community and various governing bodies and associations.

  7. VPBBC Life Membership may be awarded posthumously.

OUTSTANDING BASEBALL CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS & CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE NOMINEE

Please include supporting evidence and documentation that indicates the nominee meets the standard and criteria for selection, paying particular attention to prolonged and outstanding contributions to VPBBC.

ATTACHMENTS

Please submit an image of the nominee and upload any other supporting information that can be used in media, marketing and communication should the nominee be awarded VPBBC Life Membership.

PLEASE ENSURE NOMINEES MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA

Nomination criteria

  1. Induction into the VPBBC Hall of Fame is based upon outstanding performance through on-field excellence and demonstrated ongoing achievements at an elite level of baseball within domestic, national and/ or international levels.

  2. On-field excellence may be evidenced by representation at State (Western Australia, Claxton Shield, WA Brewers, Perth Heat) and National (Australia, Olympics) levels and/ or the setting of records and/ or winning of awards and/ or participation in championship winning teams at State League baseball level and above and will require statistical evidence of the afore-mentioned as supporting documentation for nomination.

  3. In the absence of available statistical evidence, nominations will need to be supported through written testimonials and/ or documentation from multiple sources.

  4. Candidates nominated must have represented VPBBC at State League level (or equivalent, depending upon terminology of the era) as a player and/ or coach for a minimum of two (2) seasons.

  5. Any nominee that has already been inducted into either the Western Australian Baseball (BWA) Hall of Fame or the Australian Baseball (BA) Hall of Fame or both will automatically be inducted into the VPBBC Hall of Fame, on the proviso that they meet all other nomination criteria.

  6. Candidates must meet acceptable standards of integrity, character and sportsmanship, and must in no way have brought the sport of baseball nor the VPBBC into disrepute.

  7. The VPBBC Hall of Fame selection committee reserves the right to crosscheck all information provided in support of nominations as a part of the validation process.

Please include supporting accomplishments and statistics that indicate the nominee meets the standard and criteria for selection.

NOMINATION CRITERIA

  1. An individual must have made outstanding and unparalleled contributions to the VPBBC and the sport of baseball over a period of not less than twenty-five (25) years.

  2. The individual's contributions must be significant, influencial and have long lasting and positive impact on the VPBBC and the sport of baseball, going above and beyond that of regular responsibilities and expectations.

  3. Excellence for such a prolonged period of time may (and usually will) involve contributions and leadership across multiple roles including, but not limited to;

    • Administration & Management

    • Playing, Coaching & Development

    • Preservation and Promotion of Club History

    • Volunteering & Officiating

    • Scoring & Umpiring

  4. The individual must be of good character - displaying good conduct, sportsmanship, integrity, dignity and an unwavering dedication to the Club and the sport.

  5. An individual may only receive the award once.

  6. The award is designed to commemorate a lifetime of perseverence, excellence and commitment to the Club and the sport and as such acknowledges a lasting and inspiring legacy. Therefore the Lifetime Achievement Award will only be presented when there is a deserving individual nominated and there should be no expectation this will be anything other than a very rare and prestigious presentation.

Please include supporting evidence and documentation that indicates the nominee meets the criteria for selection, paying particular attention to the outstanding, impactful and prolonged contributions across a lifetime to VPBBC and the sport of baseball.
